What are some tricks for getting the most out of my voicemail
box?
1. Turn of automatic message information played on every
message.
Do you find it annoying to have to listen to the phone number, date, and
time on every new message that you get? You can turn this feature off, and
then access this information manually whenever you want it.
To turn off autoplay of message information, follow these instructions:
a. Log into your mailbox. If you have new messages and these messages start
to play, just press * to return to the top level of your mailbox.
b. Press 6 for Mailbox Administration.
c. Press 6 to toggle autoplay of message information.
Now, if you are listening to a message and you want to know the caller's
phone number and/or the date & time the message was left, simply press
00 during message playback.
2. Speed Up Message Playback
While listening to a message, press 99 to double the playback speed.
Typically, the voice is just as understandable, and it saves time during
playback of messages.
3. Scan Your Messages
When you log into your mailbox and find that you have many messages, you
can tell the voicemail system to play the first five seconds of every
message in your mailbox so that you have an idea of what messages are
present and can respond to them in the right order. While listening to your
messages, press ## to scan through all new messages
in your mailbox.
4. Skip to the Next Message or to the Previous Message
While listening to messages, you can press # to
skip to the next message while leaving the current message as new. You can
also skip to the previous message by pressing 11.
5. Rewind, Fast Forward, and Pause Message Playback
While listening to a message, you can rewind five seconds by pressing 7,
fast forward five seconds by pressing 9, or pause playback by pressing 8.
6. Return A Call
While listening to a message, you can place a call back to the caller
automatically by pressing 5 during message playback. The system will connect
you to the caller based on the caller ID information when they left you the
original message.
